Indian Cardiac Surgeon Professor Arkalgud Sampath Kumar Visited Beijing Huaxin Hospital for Technical Exchange
On the afternoon of May 23 and 27, Heart Center organized case study. Famous Cardiac Surgeon Professor Arkalgud Sampath from Indian Pushpanjali Crosslay Hospital also joined us. Professor Sampath came to China to attend the 5th Tsinghua International Symposium on Advancement of Cardiovascular Surgery and Cardiology.
Professor Sampath listened to the introduction of two recently admitted patients and discussed the treatment plan with President Qingyu Wu and other surgeons. Meanwhile, Professor Sampath talked about the cases of valvular repair on patients with rheumatic heart disease at his hospital and his experience in treating this kind of patients, as well as the computer-operated simulation system they have for residency program at Pushpanjali Crosslay Hospital. Professor Sampath spoke highly of the achievement of complex cardiac deformity such as Ebstein’s Anomaly surgery, Ross surgery, repair of double-outlet right ventricle with transposition of the great arteries, and single ventricle separation surgery. Professor Sampath appreciated the Tetralogy of Fallot surgery we performed at Beijing Huaxin Hospital and suggested its application to the world. Professor Sampath would like to have more exchange and cooperation in the future and he would be happy to offer study opportunity to our young doctors with stipends. They would also like to provide language support for the global promotion of our new technology. President Qingyu Wu hosted the case study, vice president Dongya Zhang and more than 20 staff participated in the case study.
