President Qingyu Wu Went to University of Minnesota for Academic Exchanges
July 25 to July 26, University of Minnesota invited the President Qingyu Wu to attend the Bakken Symposium 2011 which had about 200 surgeons attend. American top cardiac surgeons Richard W. Bianco, William E. Cohn, Tirone David, and Joseph Dearani attended and reported on topics of future strategy in cardiac diseases, cardiac devices, and procedures. Professor Wu was the only invited non-American delegate and he was the only keynote speaker who presented “Current Status of Valvular Surgery and Personal Experience in China”at Welcome and Plenary Session for one hour. Professor Wu led the discussion and exchanges on his finding. The experts at the Symposium recognized the surgical treatment and good outcomes are a significant breakthrough of valve surgery. Those cardiac experts would like to have more cooperation and exchange programs with Tsinghua Univesity and Beijing Huaxin Hospital in the future.
