President Qingyu Wu Went to Australia for Academic Exchanges
On July 31 to August 7, Porfessor Qingyu Wu visited Queensland University of Technology, The Prince Charles Hospital in Queensland, and Macquarie University in New South Wales Australia. Professor Wu made a report on Current Status and Development of Cardiovascular Surgery in China at Queensland University. Professor Wu introduced the current situation of heart-assiast device and heart transplant in China, analyzed the problems in the field of artificial heart surgery, and discussed about the cooperation between Tsinghua University and Queensland University of Technology in the field of artificial heart surgery. At The Prince Charles Hospital, Professor Wu has been getting in touch with Professor Peter Pohlner, Director of Cardiovascular Surgery at Chales and Professor John Fraser, Director of Cardiac ICU and The Research Center for Translational Medicine on cardiac-assiast devices. Two hospitals also reached an agreement on training and academic exchange programs. In addition, President Wu visited Macquarie University and Macquarie University Hospital on this trip.
