5th world Congress of Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery
June 21 to June 26, the 5th world Congress of Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery was held in Cairns Australia. Professor Peter Pohlner and Professor James Wikinson are both the presidents of the conference. Scholars from cardiology, cardiac surgery, cardiac anesthesia, postoperative care, cardiopulmonary bypass process, and nurses and technicians attended this conference. The President of Huaxin Hospital, Professor Qingyu Wu, Professor Xiaomei Li (Pediatric Cardiac electrophysiologist), Director Lianyi Wang (cardiac ultrasound expert), and Director Dongya Zhang (Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist) were invited to this conference. The conference had eight topics, including Basic Sciences of Medicine, Clinical Medicine, surgical strategies, and scientific research frontier. In terms of topics of cardiology, cardiac surgery, anatomy, postoperative recovery, and pediatric cardiac care, Professor Andrew Redington (cardiac physiologist, pathophysiologist, and cardiologist), Professor Pascal Vouhe (Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon), Professor Robert Anderson (world famous congenital heart disease pathologist), Professor Gil Wernovsky(ICU specialist for post congenital heart surgery), and Professor Kathy Mussatto (nursing specialist of vascular diseases) gave excellent landmark lectures based on their clinical and scientific/academic achievement. Professor Qingyu Wu presented two papers “100 Cases of Clinical Anantomy Correction of Ebstein’s Anomaly” and “Surgical Techniques of A New Type of Congenital Anoma.ies of the Aortic Arch” in his report. Other two paper “Ventricle Separation on Children with Single Ventricle” and “The Comparative Analysis of Accuracy of Ultrasonic Cardiogram in Diagnosing Ebstein’s Anomaly ” were posted as wall newspaper. In the panel of Adult Congenital Heart Disease, cardiologist Joe Dearani from Mayo Clinic presented a comprehensive analysis on the techiniques and clinical results of current surgical treatment of Ebstein’s Deformity. Professor Wu’s surigcal treatment of Ebstein’s Anomaly is credited the tratment with the best clinical resluts. In another session, the President of the conference, American cardiac surgeon, Professor Marshall Jacobs spoke highly of the clinical results of Professor Qingyu Wu’s surgical treatment of the Aortic Arch diseases. Professor Dearani is very interested in Professor Wu’s treatment and experience that he felt the long discussion they had already was not enough at all. Cardiace surgeon, Professor Jacek J. Moll already knew Professor Qingyu Wu by his reputation, especially his achievement on cardiac surgery. Professor Moll would like to visit Beijing for exchange purposes. Professor Peter Pohnlner introduced Professor Qingyu Wu some famous electrophysiologists and imaging experts in order to strengthen cooperation and exchange with Huaxin Hospital.
