The Pediatrics Department has more than fifty years of history since Huaxin Hospital established. We accept outpatients and inpatients. Outpatients have access to general pediatrians, specialists, and 24-hour emergency room.
Pediatrics accepts approximately 110,000 patients each year. Inpatient department has 30 available beds and we treat about 1,200 patients annually.
The Division of Neonatology is our specialty at Huaxin Hospital. We had Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and started respiratory management in 1982 as one of the six neonatal emergency centers in Beijing. NICU is equipped with advanced medical and first aid facilities.
Our NICU is specialized in newborn asphyxia and hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). We also monitor the development of eyes, ears, brain, lungs, blood, and physical figures of successfully treated premature infants and perform early intervention on premature infants.The Division of Obstetrics and Pediatrics collaborate on neonatal resuscitation program. NICU does follow-up children with encephalopathy to prevent them from developing into cerebral palsy and allow early diagnosis. The Division of Pediatrics at Huaxin Hospital is the "high-risk perinatal treatment center" of Chaoyang "critical maternal and perinatal treatment of high-risk network". We accept high-risk and intensive neonatals transferred from other in-hospital midwifery service available institutions in Chaoyang District. Our division has accepted more than 3,600 newborns since 2003 among which 33% are premature babies with a cure rate as high as 99%.
